Comments
The design principles of Markusminde Golf Course are based on traditional golf course architecture with inspiration captured from some of the world's finest golf courses and adopted to suit the needs of Markusminde.
Use of all natural assets has lead to a very environmentally friendly course with minimal of earth movement, but a maximum of playability.Different from most other Danish courses all the holes can be played with "chip and run" technique and not target golf. The grasses on the course are also designed to fit this type of play, as are the greens. With tricky but fair slopes, positioning on the green will be paramount to gaining a par. The relative short length of the course dictated that the difficulty would be built in to the greens, as is also the case at Royal Birkdale, Southport, England (The home of two Ryder Cups and several  Open Championships).
